These book jackets have been redesigned for the covers of three books by Rupi Kaur. These are the first three books of poems and other musings that she published, but they’re not a series. The goal of this project was to create a cohesive design system that would be applied to the different books and convey the author’s experience that she tells through her poems.

The Books
Rupi Kaur’s first book, Milk and Honey is a collection of poetry and prose about survival experiences and lessons that she had up until the age of 21, when this book was written.
The Sun and Her Flowers, her second book talks in-depth about Kaur’s journey with self-love and growth, as she feels one with the sun and flowers.
Kaur’s third book Home Body is a collection of honest and open-minded conversations with herself about life, love, and family as she has grown and learned a mature perspective on her tumultuous youth.
Flat Designs
The design of these book jackets uses organic shapes to express the themes of the author’s poems. Her honest and raw discourse is represented through the monochromatic color palettes of each book. The flat vector elements of the book jackets emulate growth and hardship through their contrast and movement. Overall the book jackets embody Rupi Kaur’s books as a harmonious trio of linked experiences.
