Honey’s Diner

The goal of this project was to create a system of branding for a fictional restaurant that supports its community. Honey’s Diner is based on the concept that it’s owned by a couple, Alice and Christopher, who named the restaurant after their golden retriever Honey. They were inspired by Honey’s sunny disposition and her adoption that they took the step to open the restaurant of their dreams: a southern seventies diner. The diner gives back to its community by donating to their local animal shelter and giving leftover food to whoever needs it. The scope of this brand identity includes a cookbook, a menu system, and various environmental products.

The thematic treatment of this brand identity was designed to emulate the style of the 1970’s through the color palette, curved lines, and typography. The theme shines through these aspects and is emphasized by consistent use. The design of this system conveys a spirit of a fun, positive and happy atmosphere which take after Honey the dog’s attitude and influence.

Branding / Typography

Cookbook

The design process for this conceptual diner began with the logo, which drew from 70’s and disco style typography. After the logo, came the cookbook which strives to display Honey’s Diner’s theme and community giveback while sharing the restaurant’s unique recipes.

 Menu System

This menu system is designed to bring Honey’s Diner to life through four courses of food and drink options in a stacked and layered format for an interactive menu experience.
