Gold Inn Boutique Hotel

The goal of this project was to create a fictional boutique hotel that brings literary worlds to life and makes it possible for the visitor to escape into their favorite worlds. The scope of this project included the design of a lookbook showcasing the hotel’s theme and a collection of various products. The Gold Inn became a library hotel located in Brooklyn, NY where guests could check out books throughout their stay in the literary themed room of their choice, eat or drink at one of the three dining facilities, and even book their events.

The thematic treatment of the Gold Inn’s identity package encapsulates the whimsical and worldly air of this hotel through elements such as a rounded script typeface which is used for titles and a serif for body copy. The colors of muted red, off-white, and gold were chosen to sophisticate the theme in combination with the playful line designs. Furthermore, the voice of the Gold Inn encourages the guest’s adventurous side to delve into the books provided by the hotel.

Products

To keep guests immersed in the theme, a collection of products was created which includes items that would be placed in guests’ rooms such as bookmarks, toiletry packaging, a memo pad, door hangers, and room keys designed to resemble old library check-out cards. Additionally, menus were designed to embody two of the on-site restaurants, one a lobby café and the other an American Bistro providing room service.

 Lookbook

This book aims to embody the theme and the atmosphere of the Gold Inn Library Hotel through the use of photography, typography, and expansive description of all the possibilities the hotel has to offer. From themed rooms from other worlds, to fantasy weddings, the possibilities are endless.
